ITO EN recognizes that continual generation of new value is the driving force for a company seeking sustainable growth over the long term, and manages its R&D program accordingly. With public awareness and interest in food growing—not just in its flavor, but in safety and functional aspects as well—we are constantly exploring new possibilities for green tea and other foods that have been part of Japan's traditional culture.
        ITO EN's research arms conduct cutting-edge research on tea to develop new products for the medium to long term, focusing on the functionality and other uses of nutritional elements in green tea, vegetables, and other natural products. With the aim of preventing lifestyle-related diseases, we create functional drinks and other food for specified health use (FOSHU), research the functional elements in tea, vegetables and other foods, and develop the technology to produce drinks using such elements, as well as confirm their safety and efficacy. We also conduct research to verify the effectiveness of green tea and vegetable beverages from a scientific perspective, and work with other research institutions to develop markets.
