Factory Festivals (Community Open Days)
One of the ways ITO EN has chosen to build close ties to local communities is through occasional "Factory Festivals" at its tea leaf production facilities. These events bring together the local community and build trust and understanding between the Company, its business partners, employees and local residents and businesses.
A recent festival held at our Shizuoka Sagara Plant attracted about 1,700 people, including employees and the local community.
At our Nago Plant in Okinawa Prefecture, we recently held an Okinawa Fair featuring goods produced within the prefecture, a bazaar and charity auction. Proceeds from the auction were donated to a local welfare organization. The day also featured a program of games enjoyed by all age groups.
Volunteer Clean-Up Projects
We undertake clean-up activities in local areas near ITO EN factories and offices. This direct interaction with members of the community near our offices helps enhance mutual trust and provides an enjoyable opportunity for employees to contribute to the community in which they work in a tangible way.
